I’m personally wrapping my head around the fact that I have a seven year old. Yes, we’re dealing with a SECOND GRADER, people!

My son’s school provides free lunch to all students (my budget thanks them) but he still wants to take a lunchbox. So, we’ve come up with a system, as long as he does a good job in class Monday-Thursday, on Friday he gets to take his lunch to school. It is literally an event that requires multiple trips to the store. This year, to make his Friday lunches even more special, I’m adding funny scratch-off notes.

These lunch note cards include school themed jokes that require you to scratch off to reveal the answer. How cool is that?!? The best part is that I have yet to see ANY company offer printable scratch off stickers EXCEPT Silhouette America. So while you could buy standard gold and silver scratch off stickers, I much prefer designing my own with any design, pattern and colors as I want.

HOW TO MAKE DIY SCRATCH OFF CARDS

Step One: Print Cards & Scratch-off stickers

Print joke cards on letter-sized cardstock. Prints 4 cards per page. Some cards have space for signing your name, so add a quick “love, Mom” or “Have a great day” to it. When printing the scratch off design, print on the white side of the paper, the yellow side is the backing.

Step Two: Cut Cards & Stickers

Using your scissors or paper trimmer cut your card and scratch-off stickers down to size. If you want, you could cut the scratch-off design using your Silhouette Cameo. Select “Scratch off sticker sheet” as material type. The Silhouette Cameo settings for cutting printable scratch off stickers should be as follows:

  • BLADE: 2
  • SPEED: 7
  • FORCE: 14Grab these free printable scratch off lunch notes for back to school. Designed by Victoria Shari at Arrow and Bliss

Step Three: Adhere, Pack and Enjoy!

Once you are finished cutting, carefully peel off the scratch off design from the yellow backing and adhere it to the lunch notes, covering the answer to the joke. The note cards have lines, so you can easily line up the sticker paper over the answer. You could put these notes in A1 envelopes with a coin, or just strategically place it on top of everything in the lunch box so that it would be the first thing they see.
